b corp revision energy solar installers

ReVision Employee-Owners installed solar at the Hollis Montessori School in Hollis, New Hampshire. This project – along with dozens of others for schools and nonprofits this year – is installed at no upfront cost to the school thanks to an innovative impact investment fund ReVision developed, part of its mission to expand solar access to all.

“Conscious-capitalism” is more than a buzzword today, as consumers gravitate toward businesses committed to having a positive social and environmental impact. To that end, mission-driven and employee-owned solar installer ReVision Energy is proud to announce their B Corp re-certification, beating their 2015 score by 30 points and putting the company among the highest class of socially responsible businesses in the nation.

“Our business’s DNA has always been about the mission — driving away from fossil fuels and towards renewable energy solutions,” said company co-founder Phil Coupe, “B Labs measures that mission with rigorous, 3rd party accountability and proves to our stakeholders that we are walking the talk. We’ve been grateful over our years of doing business, that our customers are attracted not just to the quality of products and services that we offer, but also to the way in which we do business, which is to create the maximum positive social and environmental impact.”

An “Ordinary Business” – based on a group of 659 non-B Corp companies representing how most businesses in the economy operate – of the same size as ReVision (50-250 employees) has an average ranking of 53.6, which ReVision surpassed by more than 70 points. ReVision’s improvements over their 2015 score were mainly in the area of Governance and Worker Impact, with strong marks achieved for its transition to being 100% employee-owned through an ESOP trust. ReVision also recently added a first-of-its-kind in-house technical training center, addressing gaps in the existing technical education system.

B Corps are for-profit companies that use the power of business to build a more inclusive and sustainable economy. There are over 2,500 Certified B Corporations from more than 130 industries and 60 countries worldwide. B Corp standards require companies to recertify every three years.

ReVision’s mission is to transition New England to a sustainable, renewable energy-based economy and reduce carbon pollution.
