Whatley Farm in Topsham, ME is now solar powered as well as organic. Their 13.5 kilowatt grid-tied solar electric system on the roof of their barn will generate roughly 16,921 kilowatt-hours every year, enough to offset the equivalent of over 29,250 miles driven in a gas-powered car.
Whatley Farm is MOFGA certified organic . They sell the fresh vegetables of fruits, vegetables and herbs they produce through CSAs, local farmers' markets year-round, and also to local restaurants and food stores. In addition to organic crops, they also raise organic, humanely raised pork and duck eggs.
