175 solar panels on the roof of Hollis Montessori School pair perfectly with the school's energy-efficient, Passive House design. The School went solar in March of 2019 with a 56.9 kilowatt array that will generate roughly 69,412 kilowatt-hours of electricity per year, offsetting the equivalent of driving over 120,000 miles in a gas-powered car.

Hollis Montessori School financed their array through a Power Purchase Agreement to go solar at no upfront cost. The non-profit school opened in 2008, offering the Montessori method to education that focuses on "education for life" and development of the whole person to lead their students to be successful throughout their lives.
