Tell us a little bit about yourself – how did you get interested in solar?

Sustainable/renewable energy sources, along with efficiency have always interested us. We try to be environmentally conscious in our daily lives (recycling, litter pick-up, composting, eating locally). We first considered wind power, living up on a hill, but once we started researching solar, it seemed that solar technology had reached a point where it would be a good investment. We had been looking for ways to diversify from investing in traditional retirement plans and going solar seemed like an ideal alternative. And, obviously, reducing our carbon footprint is a good investment in the Earth.

Why did you choose ReVision Energy?

We ended up going with ReVision after receiving quotes from two other nationally based companies. We felt the most comfortable going with a local company, who would come out to our site for no cost. ReVision seemed to be the most honest and straightforward during the research phase and was priced competitively. Being New England based, we also felt ReVision best understood the local tax, rebate, and regulations questions we posed.

How did the installation go?  Did it meet your expectations?

The installation itself went smoothly. We had a few bumps in the road during the process of determining our solar installation site, but once it was finalized, the process went rapidly and on schedule. We were very impressed with the installation crew and felt that our project manager, Chris, was particularly conscious of respecting our space and time. The installation itself is clean looking, and has a low impact on the space. The wild turkeys also appreciate the shade!

What do you like best about the system now that it’s installed?

We are pleased that with only 5 weeks of production we have generated our first megawatt. So far, the system is hands-off, and we have a silent energy generator just chugging away. As we are viewing this partially as an investment, we are pleased with the rate of return from our array’s first month of production!
