ReVision Tech was the brainchild of Nathan Poland (3rd from right), pictured here with electricians in ReVision’s LED Division. Program Administrator Nathan Poland is a ReVision Master Electrician who formerly directed the state electrical apprentice program at the Dover School of Technology in New Hampshire.
Via Seacoast Online: In response to society’s rapidly increasing demand for solar electricity and complementary zero-emission technologies, ReVision Energy has launched its new ReVision Energy Technical Centers (ReVision Tech). Our state-certified training and education program, the first of its kind in the nation, provides the educational hours required for electrical licensure in Maine and New Hampshire. ReVision’s James Hasselbeck spoke with Seacoast about the strategy behind the undertaking:
Poland’s colleague James Hasselbeck said under electrical apprenticeship regulations, there must be one licensed electrician for every two apprentices working on any specific job. He said the limited number of licensed electricians creates a bottleneck effect where only a finite number of apprentices can be hired to keep a consistent ratio with the number licensed electricians.
“We’re playing the long game. There is interest out there and that’s really encouraging but the same interest has outstripped our ability to get more people into the field,” said Hasselbeck, ReVision’s director of operations. “We’re making a decades-long commitment.”
