Thanks to supporters of Cultivating Community, who successfully fundraised $500 to go towards their urban and school gardens, suburban organic farm, and other community food projects.
For August our focus is on The Children’s Museum of New Hampshire, located on the banks of the Cochecho River in Dover, New Hampshire. The Museum’s one-of-a-kind, hands-on exhibits have been created by our staff and NH artisans for kids and their families. Open year round right in Henry Law Park.
About The Children’s Museum of NH
The Children’s Museum of NH offers two floors of unique, interactive exhibits for children ages 1-12 and their families. Children are offered the opportunity to explore world cultures, conduct under-sea research, analyze brain waves, and learn about dinosaurs, music, nature and much more.
Founded in 1983 in Portsmouth, the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire relocated to Dover in 2008. It offers a blend of art, science and cultural experiences for families. At the heart of their mission is a commitment to offering access to all children and families by minimizing barriers that prevent fair and meaningful educational and cultural opportunities. Since its inception, the Museum has served over 2 million people from New Hampshire and beyond.
The Children’s Museum is New Hampshire’s most visited educational and cultural institution. In the Museum’s three years in Dover, it has reached over 280,000 students and families from 110 New Hampshire towns and cities, communities throughout New England, and visitors from all over the world. 50% of our visitors came in free or with reduced admission, and 24% are from underserved audiences.
ReVision has participated in a number of special events that the Museum holds throughout the year – in August catch us with them at the inaugural Dover’s Maker’s Faire, a festival of invention and fun technology projects. Our Mechanical Engineer intern is building a solar-powered water pump that plays music!
