Do you need support?
We're at a critical turning point for our country's clean energy future. We need your help now.
The House has passed a federal budget proposal that would eliminate the 30% residential solar tax credit (25D) as of December 31, 2025—a move that would make solar less affordable for thousands of families across our state, put 300,000+ U.S. jobs at risk, and make electricity prices rise even faster.
While many Republican lawmakers have voiced support for clean energy incentives, Senator Susan Collins has not yet joined them. Her vote will be critical in determining whether solar remains accessible for Mainers like you.
You can help right now by emailing Senator Collins or calling her office at (207) 618-5560.
It will take less than two minutes. Just state your name, your town, and why clean energy tax credits matter to you. Ask her to support keeping the 25D solar tax credit in place through a gradual step-down, not an abrupt end. If you’re looking for a few talking points, we’ve got you covered; just scroll down below.

**Update, June 6: Email is now the preferred method of contacting Senator Collins, but either phone or email is appreciated.

Whether you call or email, you can say:
My name is [name], and I am from [town]. I’m asking the Senator to restore the residential solar tax credit, 25D, in the budget reconciliation bill. This tax credit ensures Mainers have an opportunity for energy choice and lower electricity bills—moving away from costly energy and instead generating our own energy, right here at home.
(Add your own solar story here—why did you choose to go solar, and how is/would the tax credit be helpful in that journey?)
I ask the Senator to protect the 25D residential solar tax credit and support a gradual step-down rather than an abrupt elimination. The House budget proposal would eliminate this credit at the end of 2025, which would make solar less affordable for families like mine, put 15,000+ jobs at risk in Maine, and lead to electricity prices rising even faster. Please protect clean energy tax credits to support our state economy and keep our energy prices from rising. Thank you.
Join ReVision Energy employee-owners on Tuesday, June 10 from 7am – 6pm at our South Portland and Montville offices to make calls together. We’ll have food, drinks, and a community of like-minded people who believe solar must be part of a livable future—for our kids and grandkids.
Right now, the Senate is hoping to vote by July 4, so now is the time to speak up. At ReVision we’re doing everything we can to advocate for solar in Washington, but your voice – as a solar champion – carries the most weight.
Thank you for standing up for solar, for our climate, and for Maine’s clean energy future.
