Sam is the Chief Financial Officer at ReVision Energy and serves on the ReVision Executive Committee and Board of Directors. He is responsible for the company's financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, strategic investments, financial literacy building, and integrating ReVision's commitment to B-Corp stakeholder theory into its financial decisions. Sam has been in the solar industry since 2007 and joined ReVision in 2013 to focus on scaling ReVision's Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) program. After scaling the PPA program, Sam broadened the scope of his role, utilizing his project finance and development expertise to build and function as General Manager for ReVision's Commercial line of business. The Commercial GM role included leading ReVision's Maine land development strategy, resulting in the construction of over 50 MW of solar projects between 2019 and 2024. In 2022, Sam took over for retiring cofounder Bill Behrens as ReVision's CFO. A recent highlight of Sam's investment strategy efforts at ReVision was leading the acquisition of Sunbug in 2023 and leading a strategic recapitalization fundraising effort in 2025. Sam holds an undergraduate degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of Vermont, as well as a postgraduate Certificate in Accounting. He earned his master's degree in Business Administration with a focus in both Finance and Strategy from Villanova University. Sam and his wife, Erin, live in Windham, Maine, where their home is very close to net zero, including a 14 kW member-owned community solar share which powers their heat pumps, heat pump water heater, and electric vehicle.
Sam and Erin have a a 4.0 kW share in the ReVision run Streamside Community Solar Farm, which covers 100% of their home's electricity load. Their house is heated with 3 Air Source Heat Pumps, and a smidge of electric baseboard heat in the bathrooms, which means they enjoy 100% electric heat and hot water.
