We sat down recently with Kelly Marett, ReVision’s Commercial O&M Manager, to learn more about what “O&M” means and why so many businesses and organizations are protecting their solar investments with this type of service agreement.
What exactly is an O&M agreement?
A ReVision O&M agreement means:
- a dedicated portfolio manager watching your sites year-round
- reduced labor rates when repairs are needed
- a comprehensive annual inspection covering the full system, from thermal scans and electrical connections to racking, wire management, and monitoring equipment.
It’s how we find small problems before they become expensive ones.
One of ReVision’s strengths is that we understand these systems from a full lifecycle perspective. We have more than 20 years of experience in the solar industry, and our O&M team supports a wide range of commercial systems throughout northern New England.
We have experienced field technicians, in-house monitoring and technical expertise, and the regional presence to provide onsite support when it is needed. We also understand that no two customers or sites are exactly alike. A municipal system, a school, an asset-managed portfolio, and a commercial rooftop may all have different priorities, reporting expectations, and risk tolerances.
That is why we focus on developing customized service plans. Depending on the site, that might include proactive monitoring, annual preventive maintenance, performance reporting, aerial thermal inspections, vegetation management, snow clearing, or other specialized services.
Most importantly, we approach O&M as a long-term partnership. Our role is to help customers understand their systems, respond when problems arise, and protect the value of their renewable-energy investment.
We also offer Proactive System Monitoring on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis based on customer’s desired need for system oversight. All of our monitoring plans include an annual production report that compares actual energy generation with modeled expectations and gives the customer a clearer view of system performance over the service year and over the life of the project.
