Apprenticeship Program
ReVision Energy’s Electrical Apprenticeship Program (REEAP) is the first employer-based apprenticeship program in the nation to provide the academic training required for renewable energy professionals to earn electrical licensure. Since 2018, over 45 apprentices have graduated from ReVision’s electrical apprenticeship program.
Unlike conventional trade schools, REEAP doesn’t require students to leave work or attend evening classes multiple nights a week. As an in-house, registered apprenticeship program, REEAP is a work-and-learn program that provides on-the-job training and technical training to complement the professional and personal lives of our apprentices.
Furthering Your Career
Electricians Will Save the World
The greatest barrier to tackling the climate crisis is a severe shortage of electricians. To meet our climate goals, the U.S. will need roughly one million new electricians in the next decade. Without significant intervention, we will fall 600,000 electricians short. ReVision Energy’s own mission depends on the solar industry’s ability to develop a skilled, diverse, and passionate electrical workforce.
Reaching our climate goals will require a collective shift in our perception of the work needed to build an electrified, equitable future. Trades professionals often embody qualities valued in American culture: financial security, self-sufficiency, and autonomy. However, our educational system has marginalized the career prospects of the construction trades for decades. If we are going to act on climate in a meaningful way, we must shift society’s perception of the trades. ReVision is committed to engaging our communities and changing this narrative.
ReVision Energy Training Center
In an industry with high demand, but without the advantage of a legacy workforce, ReVision Energy has developed its own infrastructure to streamline development of new clean energy professionals. Supporting employees’ personal and professional growth is embedded in our core values. RETC is our most innovative expression of this value and is essential to equipping our team with the skills needed to advance our long-term mission.
