Andrew was born in Bath and raised in Arrowsic. He was the third generation on his mother’s side to graduate from Morse High School in Bath, then went on to receive a B.F.A. in Drama from NYU’s Tisch School. He appeared in several plays in New York, most notably as Julius Caesar in “Julius Caesar” at Theatre for the New City and as Herb Shuttle in Kurt Vonnegut’s “Happy Birthday Wanda June” where he had the honor to perform for and meet the author. After graduation, he apprenticed at Hope Orchard in Hope, then worked at Lakeside Orchards in Manchester.
In 2006, after a severe hail storm put him out of work at the orchard, he shipped out on the schooner Liberty Clipper bound from Boston to Key West, then carried on as a professional mariner for nine years. As a sailor, he visited ports from Antigua to Bar Harbor. In 2007 he met Hilary Clark, another “schooner bum” working in Camden, and on October 16, 2011 they were married in Arrowsic. In 2008 he became chief mate on Ketch Angelique, a 130 foot gaff-rigged topsail ketch out of Camden, Maine. During this time he earned his license as a 100-Ton Master of Sail, Power, and Steam upon Inland Waters. In 2011 he became captain of M/V Quicksilver, a 36 foot passenger vessel with year round service to Islesboro, Maine.
Andrew joined ReVision Energy in November, 2015 as a Solar Design Specialist. He is proud to begin a career in fighting climate change, which he believes to be the most important work of our time.
