Born in Michigan, Steve relocated to the Boston area as a young child where he developed a deep affinity for New England. Strong family values, social justice and a love for the outdoors became as integral to his life as are following the Boston sports teams. Post-graduation from Bowdoin College in Maine, his early career included a stint as a lacrosse player/coach in Australia, followed by a few years as a youth counselor in Vermont, where he met his wife in a detention center (he is quick to point out she was a social worker, not an incarcerated resident).

After completing an International MBA, and a marketing project for Lands’ End in France, Steve was drawn to global business. Shared ownership in a metals manufacturing business led to a decade of overseas travel, and successful efforts to convert an industry to an environmentally friendly chemical processing system. Upon the sale of the business, Steve represented fabric mills in Colombia, Taiwan and Italy in the outdoor apparel industry (primarily to update his wardrobe while pursuing his passion for hiking, skiing and mountain biking).

Steve left Boston to start his solar career in New Mexico in 2013, based on a decision to join the global movement to transition our society to renewable energy sources-and find the best singletrack. With Massachusetts offering one of the strongest solar markets in the country, he returned a year later to Hingham, MA where he and his wife Shelley raised their three children. After working for two other solar companies, joining ReVision Energy, a certified ‘B’ corporation and employee owned, has been an ideal fit, as he sees his role as an educator and advisor in the shared mission with other “ReVisionistas”.
