Jonathan grew up outside Caribou in Aroostook County, farming, fishing, hunting, and cross-country skiing with his grandfather. He earned a B.S. in Engineering Physics from the University of Maine and interned for two summers at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL. He spent a decade south of the Mason-Dixon line pursuing an M.Div. in Christian Ministry and a Th.M. in Church History at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC., teaching history, and pastoring a small rural church. He returned to Maine as the pastor at Little River Church in Belfast in November 2015 and recently became a Solar Design Specialist at Revision Energy. Jonathan’s faith informs his worldview and he sees solar as both good financial and environmental stewardship. He’s excited to work in two occupations which, while seeming quite different, both allow him to put his education and his passions to work serving the people and communities he loves.
Jonathan, with his wife Heather, daughter Charlotte, and baby on the way love to spend time sharing food and friendship. They host a weekly open house with an open invitation to their work, church and neighborhood communities, where there is always lots of coffee, conversation and board games. They are presently in the process of purchasing a new home with more space for hospitality and family, which they intend to outfit with solar panels, a heat pump water heater, and air source heat pumps.
