A Place to Grow – Brentwood, NH

44 solar panels on the roof of A Place to Grow in Brentwood, NH make it a green option for childcare. Established in 2005 by its director Jennifer Briggs, the daycare places a strong focus on nature-based learning. Children get to learn and explore in the outdoors, which helps develop creativity and grow an appreciation for the world around them.

A Place to Grow installed their 14.08 kw system in October of 2018. Each year, it will generate roughly 14,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity, offsetting the equivalent of over 25,500 miles driven in a gas-powered car. The daycare also reduces their electrical usage on the demand side with two highly efficient air source heat pumps which run on the clean electricity supplied by the solar arrays.
