Friends School of Portland Solar Project – ReVision Energy
Friends School of Portland solar energy project installed by local employee-owned contractor ReVision Energy
ReVision installed 36kw of solar electricity on the Friends School of Portland, a highly efficient, Passive House Certified building. The school was the first ‘net zero’ school in the state of Maine and only the third such school in the nation, at the time. In July 2020, ReVision installed an additional 93kw solar array to expand the Friends School’s clean energy generation.
The school’s solar projects were made possible through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), which means the Friends School paid no upfront fee to install the solar panels. Instead, an investor paid for the upfront cost while the school pays for the power generated from the project each month, rather than paying for power from the grid. After some time, the school can opt to buy the system from the investor at a significantly lower price and own all the solar power generated outright.

We spoke with 6 companies prior to contracting with ReVision and could not be more pleased. From the initial meeting through the entire contract, scheduling, and installation, they were all top notch.
