To zap steeply climbing utility bills and to cut their carbon footprint, Evo Rock + Fitness in Portland, Maine has invested in a solar electric system that is meeting more than 90% of their annual electricity demand. The popular indoor rock climbing gym and fitness facility had ReVision Energy install 361 high-quality solar electric panels as part of a major building renovation, and the economic and environmental results have been exhilarating.

In May 2018, the rooftop array generated more than 17,000 kilowatt-hours of clean, renewable solar electricity while the gym consumed only 10,000 kilowatt-hours, meaning that EVO banked 7,000 kilowatt-hours of credit on their utility account that they can draw from on cloudy days.

Harvesting Maine’s abundant solar resource allows EVO Rock + Fitness to help protect the natural environment, which in turn helps the business connect more deeply with its clients and improves the company’s triple bottom line of “People, Planet & Profit.” Their solar panels are warrantied for 25 years and have a 40-year expected useful lifespan – ensuring that EVO will derive a powerful return on its investment for decades to come.
