Camp Ketcha – Scarborough, ME Solar Project – ReVision Energy

Camp Ketcha – Scarborough, ME solar energy project installed by local employee-owned contractor ReVision Energy

Solar panels on the roof of Camp Ketcha ‘s barn integrate sustainable technology with the conservation and nature education they offer at their day camp. As a charitable non-profit, Camp Ketcha worked with another non-profit, Re-Volv , to raise funds to purchase their solar array outright.

The 13.5 kilowatt solar array was installed on the roof of their barn in December of 2017, and generates roughly 15,840 kilowatt-hours of electricity each year. The energy produced from their solar array annually offsets the equivalent of driving 28,800 miles in a gas powered car.

Environmental Education

Camp Ketcha offers summer day camp and more. Their mission is to “Provide kids of all ages deep connections to the land, vibrant community and the confidence to create their sense of place in the world.”

They accomplish this through fun and educational outdoor programs on 107 acres of preservation meadows, forests, streams and wetlands. They inspire an appreciation of nature in their campers by offering hands-on experience on their organic farm and in their environmental education programs, and by setting an example through their commitment to local, sustainable energy.

We spoke with 6 companies prior to contracting with ReVision and could not be more pleased. From the initial meeting through the entire contract, scheduling, and installation, they were all top notch.
