Solar Energy Forum at UNE

As the University of New England journeys toward a goal of carbon neutrality, they are looking for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects that will carry the school in that direction. Focus the Nation and UNE have partnered with three student interns to develop a clean energy project at UNE this year. The students have narrowed the possibilities to three solar projects: a solar thermal system on a residence hall, a solar electric system on UNE’s new athletic complex and a solar charging station for electric cars. The next step is the strategic planning process, and to do that UNE is enlisting the help of you and other community and campus stakeholders!
Please join us to hear speakers, participate in a S.W.O.T. (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis exercise, ask questions of panelists and see a solar car charging station demonstration or take a tour of the solar thermal system on the Campus Center.
ReVision Energy co-founder Phil Coupe will be there as a keynote speaker discussing the role of solar energy in resolving Maine’s dependency on fossil fuels.
