New Hampshire Businesses for Social Responsibility (NHBSR) will be hosting a holiday networking social at Grappone Toyota‘s new LEED Certified building in Bow, NH.
This year’s Holiday Social will feature:
- A special “Connecting Networks” activity to help you meet other sustainably-minded professionals
- examples of NHBSR member-to-member partnerships
- optional facility tours highlighting the LEED aspects of Grappone’s newly renovated building
- fantastic appetizers and desserts created by The Red Blazer Restaurant, our favorite local brews, and more!
Over 60 percent of the existing building was saved during Grappone’s renovation, reducing the need for new building materials like steel and concrete. No additional paved parking areas were created so as not to increase surface run-off into the bordering Turkey River.
Because of this commitment, the dealership is vying to become the only Toyota facility in New England to receive Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
LEED Certification requires buildings to meet extremely high sustainable standards across six different categories spanning from water efficiency and environmental quality to innovation and design.
New sustainable features at Grappone Toyota include 32 400-foot-deep geothermal wells to help heat and cool the building and will greatly reduce the building’s consumption of natural gas.
Further, the dealership has added 36 water source heat pumps, seven recycling stations, 14 bicycle racks along with shower facilities for employees and two electric vehicle-charging stations available for public use. ReVision installed the solar charging stations as well as a 5.76kw awning mount solar electric array which will provide the bulk of the electric for the car charging.
