NH Chapter of the US Green Building CouncilAfter a NH Green Egg’s summer hiatus we are pleased to welcome you back to an incredibly exciting September Green Eggs event! This month NH GBC Board Member Ed Gagnon will be speaking on simple approaches toward energy savings and how they can lead to big rewards. Whether a business or home owner, by utilizing the techniques of cost estimating and learning strategic ways to prioritize energy improvements, simple approaches can lead you to energy savings that reap big rewards.

Ed will discuss creating an overall energy reduction program for your home or business looking at various areas of energy conservation siting PSNH Corporate Headquarters as an example. PSNH corporate headquarters reused the 1909 Amoskeag Manufacturing Company’s Steam Station which involved a thorough environmental clean-up and transformation of a crumbling landmark into an energy efficient modern office space.

Some of the key sustainable features incorporated into this building are: a 51kW solar rooftop array, integrated landscaping that mimics natural systems to help support biodiversity, a wind study project, a permeable pavement parking lot, and beautiful views overlooking the Merrimack River and Amoskeag Falls.
