November 2

Island Institute MaineRegistration is now open for the 2012 Island Energy Conference, Friday and Saturday, November 2 and 3, 2012 in Rockland, Maine. The Island Energy Conference brings together island leaders and energy experts to discuss common energy challenges and to learn more about resources that exist to address these challenges.

The 2012 conference will be expanding to include new voices and new topics as well as a second day of hands-on trainings on Vinalhaven. Through small group discussions and presentations from islanders and other energy professionals, we will cover a range of topics.

ReVision Energy will be there to discuss Solar PV Incentives (1:30-2:30pm):

As the price of solar panels continues to drop, photovoltaic (PV) arrays are becoming an increasingly cost-effective and reliable source of renewable energy for island communities. Participants in this session will learn about programs that are helping businesses and homeowners throughout the Northeast implement solar PV projects, as well as the unique technical and regulatory factors faced by some of the smaller islands. Invited presenters include: Mitch Tannenbaum, Maine Public Utilities Commission; Dana Fischer, Efficiency Maine; and Steve Hinchman, ReVision Energy.
