Fred Greenhalgh - Solar

Solar and wife Amy at an off-grid solar installation in Lesotho, Africa

ReVision Energy’s Fred Greenhalgh will be leading a talk on solar energy and high-efficiency heating options to kick off the Town of Alfred, ME’s Conservation Commission’s 4th annual winter speaker series. He’ll be presenting the topic, “Using Solar + Electric Heat to Save Money & The Environment” – a spin-off from our usual “Solar for Homeowners” talk but with a little extra focus on heating options and energy conservation.

He’ll cover:

  • Fred’s ‘hierarchy of energy needs’ – prioritizing projects in your home: weatherization, appliances, mechanical systems, renewable energy
  • Heat pumps – How the new generation of electric heating equipment is revolutionizing the way Mainers heat their homes
  • All about solar – how it works, what makes for a good site, is it right for you, financing/ways to make solar affordable

The event will be held Thursday, January 15th from 7-8pm at Alfred’s Town Hall, 16 Saco Rd, Alfred, ME.  Free and open to the public, light refreshments provided.
