Join and the Mid-Maine Climate Adaptation Working Group on April 22nd at the Kennebec Valley Council of Governments in Fairfield from 3:00-5:00 for a discussion on renewable energy technologies and conservation practices for businesses and homeowners!
Expert panelists will highlight how solar technologies, heat pumps, and energy efficiency generate and save energy in area businesses and homes.
- Consulting engineer and energy auditor Clough Toppan, of Vassalboro, will describe how to achieve substantial cost reductions through the application of energy audit and conservation measures, as he did with #2 fuel oil in an older home in Winslow, Maine.
- Tim Downing, President of Duratherm Window Corporation, Vassalboro, will describe how he retrofitted his 60-year-old business to achieve energy efficiency and lower energy costs using a variety of measures.
- Solar financing expert Sam LaVallee, of ReVision Energy, will describe how customized installations are reducing energy costs for businesses and home owners in Maine and New England.
- Solar and renewable energy expert and engineer Vaughan Woodruff, owner of Insource Renewables, Pittsfield, will address the increasing use of heat pumps in the area to generate both heat and air conditioning.
