Catching the Sun Trailer from Shalini Kantayya on Vimeo.

Through the stories of workers and entrepreneurs in the U.S. and China, Catching the Sun is a feature length documentary that explores the global race to a clean energy future. The film follows the hope and heartbreak of unemployed American workers seeking jobs in the solar industry, and sheds light on the path to an economically just and environmentally sustainable future. Filmed in four countries over the last five years, Catching the Sun has the potential to engage new audiences in solutions to climate change and income inequality. This is not a gloom and doom climate change film. It focuses on the human stories of real people who are working towards tangible solutions. Throughout the film, Kantayya builds on a revolutionary idea: That what’s good for the polar bears can also be good for the middle class.

Following the film, there will be a panel discussion featuring ReVision Energy representative, Jarred Cobb along with representatives from The League of Conservation Voters. Light refreshments will be provided.
